Navigating through the European regulatory landscape – What you need to know about NIS2, DORA, CRA and the AI Act
Daniel Caduff | AWS
Bio:
Daniel is a Security Assurance Principal with AWS, responsible for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. He focuses on the special requirements of regulated industries, from finance to public sector, and critical infrastructures.
Daniel is a CISSP, with a background in security policy. With AWS, he helps customers and regulators to ensure regulatory requirements, with special focus to data protection, cybersecurity and resilience.
Abstract:
The European Cybersecurity landscape is currently evolving and a significant amount of new regulations are applied to European societies to address a wide range of cybersecurity risks. From operational resiliency for the financial sector, to the protection of critical infrastructures up to the ethical and functional requirements of AI systems. This talk is about the current state of political debate and implementation, and technical requirements to meet the regulatory demands.
Post-Quantum Cryptography – now what?
Michael Tschannen | AWS
Bio:
Michael is a Senior Solutions Architect at Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Switzerland, specialised in Security. After having worked as a Penetration Tester early in his career, he decided to move to the defence side.
Since then, he’s been protecting customers and their data every day, by making security and privacy protection a central part of every solution he builds.
Abstract:
Quantum computers provide a way for us to build new types of algorithms that can solve problems impossible to solve on classical computers. An emerging risk of quantum computing is the weakening of cryptography and the privacy of data. To combat this, AWS and other industry leaders are helping shape the future of post-quantum cryptography. A new set of cryptographic algorithms that are resistant to quantum computers have just been established. This talk is about where we are at the moment, what happened in the past and what we should consider today.
